Top Christmas light displays

UK Power Networks own and maintain electricity cables in your area making sure your lights stay on including your Christmas lights.

I love this time of year - Christmas lights are sparkling everywhere. In high streets, in squares and shopping centres, there’s a sea of festive colours. It definitely brightens up the dark days of winter!

Here are my top five Christmas lights displays:
1. Kew Gardens - they look fabulous with a festive extravaganza of magical patterned lanterns, a circle of fire and a shimmering lake, and a mile-long illuminated trail that winds its way through the trees and lawns.
2. In Eastbourne, some indoor lights caught my eye; the Marine pub, to be exact with thousands and thousands of multicoloured lights and masses of baubles, tinsel and holly wreaths.
3. Cambridge has excelled itself, helped by pop group Bucks Fizz, who flicked on the city’s own Regent Street lights for the first time as part of six new energy efficient lighting schemes.
4. Maidstone -  this is a fantastic display, bringing sparkle in Jubilee Square and Upper High Street.
5. Up in Norwich a large, blue Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge) smiles proudly out across his home town with the lights shooting 25-metre dancing Alpha Papas into the sky.
