A local company has been named a top 25 place to work for the second consecutive year.

At an awards ceremony held last night in London, UK Power Networks, the company which delivers electricity supplies across London, the South East and East Anglia remained the only electricity distributor to feature in the Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work For list.

The rankings are based on a detailed employee survey reflecting the views of UK Power Networks’ staff about a number of topics ranging from senior management to pay and benefits, from development opportunities to the working environment.

Chris Degg, Director of HR at UK Power Networks, said: “We are delighted that our colleagues have once again rated us among some of Britain’s best big companies to work for, based on the results of a confidential survey.

“When staff feel positive about their job and their employer, they are much more likely to go out of their way to provide a better customer experience. We will carefully study the survey results to understand what our employees are telling us, how we can respond positively to their feedback and continually improve our business.”

UK Power Networks also won the Utility of the Year title at the end of 2015 (and also in 2012) for reducing the number and duration of power interruptions, improving information and practical help given to customers, as well as developing pioneering innovations to deliver low carbon, affordable, secure electricity supplies.

The Sunday Times Top 25 list covers companies employing more than 5,000 employees. UK Power Networks ranks among household names such as McDonalds, Halfords, EE, Marriott and Iceland.
