Information about the power cut

What time did the power go off?*

Are your neighbours (or neighbouring properties) without power too?*
Yes No Don't know

Are you in a flat?*
Yes No

Quick checks you can do

Have you checked your fuse box and turned the main switch off and on?*
Yes No

Please check your trip switches. To do this please turn the main switch off, followed by all of the individual switches. Then turn the main switch back on, followed by the individual switches one at a time. If one of the switches turns itself off again (or trips) then that normally means there is a fault or faulty appliance connected to that circuit in the property. There are a number of appliances that may trip out the circuit, including (but not limited to) kettles, toasters, washing machines, irons, dishwashers, tumble driers etc. If you unplug these appliances from the wall and then reset the trip switches, this may resolve your issue. This would indicate a faulty appliance that may need replacing or repairing.

Have you checked your electricity meter?*
Yes No

Please check your electricity meter. If it's showing any lights, movement or display and you have a power cut, then this would normally indicate that there is power coming into the property. So something may have gone wrong inside your property to cause the power cut. Have you run out of credit and need to top up? Maybe there's a problem with your electricity meter, for this you need to speak to your electricity supplier (who you pay your bills to).

If no, please advise why?

Is your electricity meter showing a red light?
Yes No Not applicable

Is your electricity meter showing a digital display (like a calculator)?
Yes No Not applicable

Are the numbers turning on your electricity meter or is there a ticking sound?
Yes No Not applicable
