How do we keep your data secure?
How do I stop receiving text messages?
If you want to stop receiving messages, just text ‘CANCEL’ to 80876. When you text CANCEL to 80876, doing so will delete automatically our record of your mobile ‘phone number for this service. We do not retain your address or post code either. If you’d like to receive texts again, all you need to do is re-register. To stop receiving alerts about future power cuts then please call us on 0800 31 63 105.
Will you send me marketing messages?
No, we will not contact you for marketing purposes. We will only contact you if there is a power cut in your area.
If I register for text messages will I get updates for any power cuts I may have in the future?
Yes, unless you select the option above ‘My power is off and I want you to text me now about this power cut only. I do not want you to text me about any future power cuts’.
Please note, if a power cut only affects you or a small amount of people then unfortunately we won’t be able to send you a text message (even if you registered with us). If you don’t get a text from us, then you can text ‘Power’ followed by your postcode to 80876 anytime of the day to keep updated. For example, text Power IP3 6QX to 80876 and we’ll send you updates for that specific power cut.
What time do your text messages stop?
Our text update service runs through the day and night. It's a 24-hour service, so we'll keep sending you messages until we've fixed the fault. When a power cut affects many customers in a large area we can also text you to let you know, this service runs from 7am to 10pm.
I’ve got power now, why are you sending me texts still?
When we fix a fault, power comes back on in stages. Some homes may be up and running before others, but we’ll keep sending text updates until everyone has their power back on.
