Did you know you have a choice when it comes to highway services connections?

Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) are able to provide most of the services provided by UK Power Networks, including:

• Unmetered live jointing to a service cable
• Excavation and reinstatement on the public highway for the installation of cables 

In addition to this, a key focus in the ongoing development of competition in connections is the ability of ICPs to undertake live jointing to Distribution Network Operators’ (DNO) networks. UK Power Networks is presently involved with a number of pilot arrangements for live jointing to low-voltage mains cables. We are hopeful that this will be allowed on a more general basis.
