Severe weather 18 January 2018

Early this morning winds of over 70mph caused damage to trees and power lines across our network area. We had extra engineers and field staff ready to head out first thing to start repairing the damage. We also brought extra staff into our contact centre to take your calls and keep you up to date. We have been working all day to restore as many customers as possible and if you are still without power I apologise, but I can reassure you that our engineers are doing all they can to get your lights back on.


Today we have focussed on the incidents that affected the largest numbers of customers in order to get as many people as possible back on supply, and we are providing additional support to our vulnerable customers in the form of home visits and hot food wherever possible for the rest of tonight.


We have engineers working through the night, but we can’t guarantee that all customers will be back on tonight.  It’s therefore important that you have good information to help you prepare, so please take a look at this map which provides the latest information.



I would just like to say thank you very much for your patience and please be assured we are doing our very best to get power back on to all customers.
