When will we get power back to all customers?

Posted on 24 December 2013 04:47 PM by rudli1m

When the storm struck last night, power was initially cut to about 300,000 customers but engineers restored it to most within two or three minutes. Our engineers then worked really hard in terrible weather conditions.

I wanted to write this blog as a note to all our customers so you can be fully prepared.

If you live in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk or Suffolk and have no power
Of the power cuts that we know about in the East of England, engineers are aiming to get the vast majority of customers back on by 24th December.

If you live in Kent, Surrey or Sussex and have no power
The South East was hit harder by the storms last night. Our engineers are tackling the incidents which affect high numbers of customers first and will do their very best to get every customer back on today. But I think it’s important that people have good information to help them prepare. And we are likely to have several thousand customers still without power in the South East tomorrow.

So I urge you to start making contingency plans for your Christmas day especially if your power isn’t back on tonight by midnight. If it’s not on by midnight then it’s very unlikely that it will be back before Christmas day.

On Christmas day our engineers will continue to repair the damage caused by the storm and won’t stop until your power is back on.

I would just like to say thank you very much for your patience throughout this difficult time and rest assured we are doing our very best to get power back on to all customers.
