The Customer Care Award was within a hat trick of awards at last night’s Utility Week Awards, as the company also picked up Environment and Team of the Year accolades.

The annual awards is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in the utility sector, showcasing the very best work of the country’s utility companies. Last night’s ceremony (Dec 10) attracted more than 1,500 guests to Grosvenor House Hotel in central London with an evening of The Greatest Showman themed music and entertainment.

The company’s StaySafe team was also honoured with Team of the Year for what the judges described as a sensible and solid initiative for promoting good safety practice. UK Power Networks’ ambition to improve London’s air quality by accelerating the decarbonisation of London’s public transport was also recognised with a win in the Environment category.

Head of customer engagement Julie Minns, said: “We’re very proud to have come out on top in the three areas that we know are most important to our customers; safety, customer care and the environment. It’s great for the fantastic teams behind these initiatives to receive this recognition as judged by our industry peers.”

As a finalist in 11 of the 14 categories last night, UK Power Networks was also shortlisted for Capital Programme Management, Transformation and Innovation, Staff development, Diversity, and Utility of the Year amongst others.
