The Hawks and Hurricanes are already training ready for their first season in Under 8s league football as part of Martlesham Youth Football Club.

They were awarded a £250 Team Sports Award through Emma Pitcher who works at UK Power Networks in Ipswich as a customer services advisor. Emma applied for the award as her son Callum is in the team and her husband Mark is one of the coaches.

Emma said everyone was delighted with the support from the company which delivers electricity to more than eight million customers across the East of England, London and the South East. “I think this scheme is great, giving a cash injection to a team, allowing them to buy new kit and equipment,” she said.

The goals are the right size for the next three age groups as the team gets older, and ideal for training. In keeping with Covid-19 guidance they are training in small groups and waiting to hear when the new season will be starting.
