Britain’s largest electricity distributor has been recognised for the way it obtains and buys goods and services.

From Press releases - 15 June 2017 12:00 AM

UK Power Networks, which owns and operates the electricity networks in London, the East and South East, has received the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Corporate Certification Standard.

After auditing the company’s purchasing policies, processes and procedures, CIPS said UK Power Networks’ procurement services team has “a very good basis for truly effective management of procurement and suppliers within the business. There are very clear guidelines for all to be used in the management of procurement processes within UK Power Networks.”

Nigel Coatsworth, head of procurement compliance at UK Power Networks, said: “We are delighted to have received this recognition from CIPS and it’s a great accolade for the team.

“However, we are not resting on our laurels as we are now pushing to achieve the advanced accreditation by the end of the year.”
