Nine employees from UK Power Networks used their Donate A Day from work to help the Rabbit Residence Rescue in Great Chishill, near Royston, Herts.

The power company that makes sure the lights stay on for more than eight million homes and businesses across London, the South East and the East of England clocked up well over 2,000 hours of volunteering by staff in 2018.

The team, from various departments, spent their day painting, fixing fences, tree cutting, levelling out slabs, cleaning rabbit pens, fixing the pens with new material and general clearing.

There was even time to cuddle some of the residents!

Rabbit Residence Rescue said; “Huge thanks for all of your help today at the rescue, it was massively appreciated”.

Liz Nicolaou, from UK Power Networks, who organised the day said; “Volunteering for different organisations and charities is so much appreciated by them. It is great that the company allows us two days a year to do this. I chose the Rabbit Residence this year as it is a small charity, but run by only 3 or 4 amazing people who dedicate their time to these bunnies. It is rare that they have a team of volunteers to help so I thought that it would be lovely idea to help them out. They could not thank us enough.”
