Power company crowned UK’s most inclusive employer
Employees at a regional electricity company are celebrating today after it was crowned the UK’s most inclusive employer.
UK Power Networks, which delivers electricity to 8.5 million homes and businesses across London, the South East and East of England, topped the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list as part of the Inclusive Awards.
These national accolades shine a light on best practice across all sectors and strands of diversity – age, disability, gender, LGBTQ+, race, faith and religion.
UK Power Networks placed at the top of the list, ahead of household names including Which?, E.ON UK and Canon UK & Ireland.
Why they’re on top:
Diversity dashboards: All nine directorates now have diversity and inclusion dashboards
Training programmes: 400 staff trained through the ‘Everyone Matters’ programme and 35 neurodiversity ‘champions’
EMPower Community: 450 members strong, with a 35% growth over the past year
Women in the workforce: 70% more women recruited in 2023
