Excavated Waste Protocol
Implementation of new legislation from the Environment Agency to capture and audit hazardous wasted removed from the ground during excavation activities. Results captured via a desktop risk assessment and on-site risk assessment. Sampling results will also be recorded.

Target outcomes
- Achieve compliance with Streetworks UK Protocol
- Enable efficient logging and classification of excavation waste
Measures of success
- Users are able to log results on the on-site risk assessment form
- Dektop risk asssessment is carried out automatically without user intervention
- Sample results are captured and material classification is created in DfT automatically
- On-site risk assessment results shared with Ontrack and Swims
- Automated emails sent to relevant team for hazardous results
Stakeholder Engagement
Engagement with field users over the design of the on-site risk assessment form; engagement with Soilex to agree the process and design for the sample results entry/upload; engagement with SQS and WM Walsh (Ontrack and Swims) for WorMS interface changes.
