Electricity firm appoints experienced utilities technology leader as CIO
UK Power Networks has announced Andrew Quail as the new Chief Information Officer.
With over 20 years of technology leadership roles in the energy industry, most recently as Chief Transformation and Information Officer at SGN, Andrew brings a wealth of experience in business and technology transformation within energy networks. Earlier in his career Andrew worked in consultancy and management positions at Capgemini, Tata Consultancy Services and TUI.
He now will turn his attention to UK Power Networks, the industry-leading Distribution Network Operator which delivers electricity to 8.5 million homes and business across London, the South East and the East of England.
As the new CIO at UK Power Networks, Andrew will continue the digitalisation of the company, including looking for ways to utilise technology to make the electricity firm run smoother, boost cyber security, and support the company’s mission to help customers and push forward with clean energy.
In his spare time, he provides advisory support and guidance to a number of established technology organisations as well as smaller digital start-ups. Andrew is most excited about continuing to provide a legacy of supporting others to perform at their very best.
Andrew said: “It is a privilege to join an organisation that is playing such a crucial role in the UK's energy resilience, the transition to net zero and is leading within the sector.
“I will strive to build positively on all the incredible work done to date by the team and my predecessors.”
