Monster TV role for Sussex twins

Twin baby brothers from Lancing have starred in the SKY / HBO comedy horror series ‘The Baby’ from creators Siân Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer.

Albie and Arthur Hills, who in real-life are the cute baby sons of Ash and Izzie, played the leading role of a controlling, manipulative baby with violent powers who unexpectedly arrives in the life of a woman who never wanted children, leading to some sinister turns.

Ash, an electricity linesperson at UK Power Networks, said: “They are really good boys, although I do think they like to stay in character sometimes. Hopefully they will like it when they are older and from now on, they have no need for Halloween outfits, they can go as themselves.”

Ash and Izzie were contacted by a casting agency asking if they wanted to put the boys forward for a role in a TV series after launching an Instagram page to keep friends and family updated on complications during the pregnancy.

Ash said: “We loved the script and behind the comedy and horror there are some very important topic areas which we are really proud to have been a part of sharing.

“We liked the idea of the boys doing something so different and telling them all about it when they are older. It’s crazy watching it back. We were sent a few to watch before it went out. The film crew were brilliant with always checking the boys, Izzie and I were happy and comfortable.

“It was amazing seeing their little faces pop up on Sky Atlantic.”

In real life the boys are now toddlers obsessed with Baby Shark, climbing and football.

The original eight-episode limited series is a co-production between Sky Studios and HBO and is produced by SISTER (“Chernobyl,” “Landscapers,” “This is Going to Hurt”) and Proverbial Pictures. The series is co-created by Siân Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer; executive produced by Jane Featherstone, Carolyn Strauss and Naomi de Pear for SISTER, Siân Robins-Grace and Nicole Kassell; co-executive produced by Katie Carpenter; produced by Lucy Gaymer; consulting producer Bisha K. Ali. The series is directed by Nicole Kassell, Stacey Gregg, Faraz Shariat and Ella Jones, and written by Siân Robins-Grace, Susan Stanton, Kara Smith, Anchuli Felicia King and Sophie Goodhart.

The series launched in the US and Australia and came to UK screens in July.
