What are Technical Limits and why are they important?
Technical Limits is a new solution developed in collaboration with distribution and transmission companies to unlock transmission network capacity. It allows customers to accelerate their connections to our network ahead of transmission reinforcement works by offering them the option to connect on a non-firm basis.

It allows customers to accelerate their connections to our network ahead of transmission reinforcement works by offering them the option to connect on a non-firm basis.
Key deliverables
- Phased plan to release capacity at applicable GSPs
- Policy and procedure to fairly allocate revised headroom
- Customer engagement plan to ensure relevant customers can express their interest in the released capacity
Target Outcomes
- More renewable generations projects able to connect to the EPN and SPN network without waiting for the transmission reinforcement

- High levels of customer satisfaction
- Volume (MW) of customers projects connected at constrained GSPs
- Number (%) of projects achieving an earlier date
