Leaning pole

Power lines

We have a regular programme to inspect and maintain our electricity poles and ensure that they are safe. If you see a pole which is damaged or looks like it's leaning, please let us know right away. Our teams will inspect the pole and if there are any issues, we'll take the appropriate measures to secure, support or replace the pole. Your safety is our top priority.

Safety around power lines

You should always treat electricity power lines as being live. If you see them hanging low, damaged or grounded, please stay at least 10 meters away from the equipment and call us 24 hours a day on 0800 31 63 105 or 105. If you think they're causing significant risk to the public, please call 999.

Customers typically need this when:

The pole is old, rotting or decaying

The ground around the pole is unstable

The pole has been damaged or hit by a vehicle

Report a leaning or unsafe electricity pole

We have a regular programme to inspect and maintain our electricity poles and ensure that they are safe, not rotting or leaning. However, if you spot one, please report it now and we’ll investigate and, if necessary, visit the site to inspect the pole (usually within two weeks of your request).

How to report an issue
